Because of this, we set aside part of our money and our work to research the whales and dolphins in our region.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>When you come on our trips, a part of what you pay is invested in nature conservation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Cet\u00e1ceos &#038; Navegaci\u00f3n<\/strong> team consists, amongst others, of <strong>marine biologists<\/strong>, who are the perfect <strong>environmental guides<\/strong> and also take advantage of the trips to <strong>observe, make notes and research<\/strong> the natural world we work in<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also, we <strong>DO NOT get any public funding whatsoever<\/strong>, everything is financed by the eco-tourism trips you take part in.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-942\" title=\"Cetaceos-Navegacion-cetaceo\" src=\"https:\/\/www.cetaceosynavegacion.com\/media\/Cetaceos-Navegacion-cetaceo1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"425\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"spacer-10\"><\/div>\n<p><strong>It all began in 1998<\/strong> when, <strong>privately and entirely financed by the eco-tourism trips<\/strong>, we drew up a <strong>census and a map of the whales and dolphins<\/strong> in southern Murcia waters, which allowed us to devise our current tourist\/scientific routes and adventures revolving around the world of whales and dolphins.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From 2003 until 2015 data<\/strong> was collected by all the <strong>employees at Cet\u00e1ceos &#038; Navegaci\u00f3n<\/strong> which were used in several works by the biologist, Rosa Canales, which will form a definitive part of her doctoral thesis.<\/p>\n<p>With the data obtained in 2006, 2007 and 2008, the <strong>Coastline Ecology Institute carried out the Pilot Whale Project: Research on water quality and whales and dolphins. Financed by Obra Social CAM and the Biodiversity Foundation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Using <strong>photos<\/strong> taken by the <strong>biologist Itziar Ayala<\/strong>, we are currently building a database of photos of Pilot Whales and Risso\u2019s Dolphins<\/p>\n<p><strong>At the moment<\/strong> we are continuing to gather data about the whale and dolphin populations so that the evolution of their numbers is always up-to-date and we can help with their <strong>conservation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to this, we are always ready to <strong>take part<\/strong> in projects in other parts of the <strong>Mediterranean<\/strong> or the <strong>Atlantic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Would you like to to do research or work on whales and dolphins, or the sea in general?
